Mosport has been presenting major league entertainment to fans since 1961. The 750-acre, multi-track facility is located less than an hour east of Toronto.
Recognized as Canada’s Home of Motorsports, Mosport has hosted just about every class of road racing on its famed 3.957 km circuit, including Formula 1, IndyCar, sports cars, stock cars, endurance racing, motorcycles, motocross, showroom stock, historic vintage racers, “Big Rig” trucks and karts.
The Panoz Motor Sports Group purchased Mosport in 1998 and invested more than $7 million in circuit improvements and new facilities to ensure this world class road course meets FIA international standards.
Canadian Motorsports Ventures (CMV) which includes Orlando Corp. Chairman Carlo Fidani, Alan Boughton, CEO of Trailcon and Canadian road racing legend Ron Fellows, purchased the facility in June of 2011. They have begun massive construction to upgrade Mosport including a new two-way tunnel and main entrance way.
In 2012, Mosport’s schedule features Canada’s top national championships and many of North America’s best road racing series. The biggest event of the season is the Mobil 1 presents the Grand Prix of Mosport, featuring the American Le Mans Series sports car race. Last year, this event drew a three-day weekend crowd of more than 70,000 and reached a world-wide television audience of more than 500 million homes.
Mosport is also a featured stop for the country's top domestic motorsport tours; the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series, the Canadian Touring Car Championship and the Mopar Canadian Superbike Championship.
In addition to the historic road course, Mosport has three other circuits on the grounds.
Mosport Speedway is a half-mile oval that’s home to weekly stock car racing and short track feature events, including the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series on May 28.
The Mosport Driver Development Centre (DDC) is a 2.4 km advanced driver and race driver training facility, with the Bridgestone Racing Academy as its primary tenant. The Academy is regarded as one of North America’s top race schools, graduating several of Canada’s current crop of international racers.
The 1.4 km Mosport Kart Complex is an important proving ground for Canada’s racing stars of tomorrow.
