READY FOR CDSTECH 200 CASCAR RACE

Bowmanville, ON-July 6, 1999: Since the announcement, in April, of CDS Technologies Inc. taking title sponsorship of this weekends CASCAR Castrol Super Series Eastern Championship Event, people have been talking about CASCAR returning to Mosport Speedway.

The "CDSTECH 200" will be a two day event (July 10/11) and the first entry into title sponsorship of an auto race for CDS Technologies, a Durham Region based company [CDS currently sponsor four drivers at Mosport and are a track sponsor].

The "CDSTECH 200" takes the green flag at 2:00 PM July 11th, but leading up to and after, there is plenty of racing. The gates open on Saturday July 10th at 1:00 PM for CASCAR time trials and qualifying heat races. Then Mosport's regular night of Fraser Ford Saturday Night Racing takes over at 5:00 PM with the CDS TECHNOLOGIES INC. Corporate Night. Three of four Mosport divisions will be in action the Thunder Cars, Challengers and Late Models. On Sunday, the gate will open at 10:00 AM with an Open Wheel Modified Invitational [Mosport's fourth regular class] and the Canadian ChampCar Lights adding to the CDSTECH 200 weekend. Practice, Qualifying and Heat Races will take place prior to the CASCAR AUTOGRAPH SESSION. As previously mentioned the CDSTECH 200 CASCAR Castrol Eastern Super Series Race will take the green at 2:00 PM. Following post race ceremonies the Modifieds and Canadian ChampCar Lights will run their respective features.

Given Eastern Super Series teams have just past the halfway point in their Championship, teams will be in full force to gain each valuable point remaining. Duke Sawchuk of Windsor, ON won the previous Super Series race back in 1996. Since then, CASCAR Officials have implemented some new engine and tire rules that will undoubtedly make for quicker times than we saw in '96.
