TRANS AM SERIES DRIVERS AT HAUGEN'S

Bowmanville, ON – May 12, 2000: Drivers competing at the Victoria Day Trans-Am Weekend at Mosport May 19^th to 21^st will make a special appearance at Haugen's Chicken & Ribs Barbecue near Port Perry Wednesday May 17th.

Meet several top drivers from the BFGoodrich Tires Trans-Am Series and supporting feature series. The list of drivers confirmed to date is as follow:

From Trans-Am:

• Round three winner, Johnny Miller (#64 Automationdirect.com Corvette)
• Ancaster, ON resident making his 75^th series start, Jerry Simmons (#76 Westward Tools/True North Racing Camaro)
• Vancouver native making her debut, Marybeth Harrison (#07 Glacier Bear Racing/Lopesports Racing Camaro)
• Entering his 15^th consecutive season, Don Sak (#10 A&E Plumbing & Drain Cleaning Corvette)
• Making his Trans-Am debut, Don’s son Bobby Sak (#6 Clover Enterprises Camaro)
• Sophomore driver, G.J. Mennen (#40 American Health Products/Laptop Lane Camaro)
• Returning after an eleven year hiatus, John Macaluso (#14 It’s A Miracle Mustang Cobra)

From US F2000:

• Rookie sensation out of Unionville, ON has already signed a long term contract with CART team boss Gerald Forsythe, Billy Asaro (#33 Forsythe/InDeck Racing Van Diemen.

Brian Simo’s Sebring and Charlotte (rounds 1&2 of BFGoodrich Tires Trans-Am Series) winning #88 Mangusta will be on display for you to see.

Haugen's Chicken & Ribs Barbecue will be the site on Wednesday May 17, 2000. As part of their regular "Cruise Night", Haugen's has invited these drivers from The Victoria Day Trans Am Weekend to join them meeting the fans and enjoying the food. No less than 300 "Cruise" cars and bikes are expected for Haugen’s weekly free to the public car show. Given the appearance of the drivers and cars, this number could swell to 400. It all gets under way at 5:30 pm with the driver autograph session from 8:00 to 8:30 pm.
