Sunoco Ultra 94 Celebration of the Automobile presented by Prestige Wheels

Bowmanville, ON - June 1, 2001: A spectacular Celebration of the Automobile, featuring hundreds of classic cars, will mark the 40^th anniversary of Mosport, Canada's Home of Motorsports, this summer.

The event, on the Canada Day weekend (June 30 & July 1), will combine the annual Vintage Car Racing Festival with a huge gathering of car club members and spectators. Classic car owners will "cruise" to the newly-renovated Mosport facility just east of Toronto to take part in Show 'n' Shine contests, if they desire or simply gather with enthusiast and enjoy a wealth of special entertainment.

Sponsored by Sunoco Ultra 94 and presented by The Toronto Star's Prestige Wheels, the event will feature everything dating from Ford's Model T "car of the century" to classic '57 Chevys. From the sultry lines of Jaguar to the iron bread horses of Mustang. It's a rendezvous of cars and car lovers like no other feature automobiles from the pre-80's era.

In addition to what's already been mentioned add "how to" seminars, vendors market, children's activities and registered controlled lapping sessions to the list of activities.

You'll see racing from the Vintage Automobile Racing Association of Canada (VARAC) and U.S. based club competitors. Recognizing cars in 8 classes, drivers proudly and very competitively race cars dating from pre-war MGs and Morgans, to Coopers, Lotus, Porsche, to early 70's Can-Am and Trans-Am cars. The list of historic marquee vying for checkered flags will amaze you.
