FURTHER IMPROVEMENTS
Bowmanville, ON November 10, 2000: Almost
completed now are further improvements to the 4 km (2.459 mile) Mosport International
Raceway. For the past several weeks' crews have been widening and repaving the track from
corner eight to corner four and pit lane. This now brings the entire circuit to the FIA
(Federation International Automobile) standard 12 m (40 feet). Other significant work
includes spectator site lines improvements at corner three and new track communication
stands (Corner Marshal stands). Below is a corner by corner synopsis of the work.
Important to Panoz Motor Sports throughout these, and any renovations, is keeping the work
local. Contractors for these rounds of improvements have been sourced within Durham
Region. To this end, the one million dollars in renovations this fall brings the total for
the past year and a half to 3.5 million dollars in locally contracted work.
