Mosport 2002 Schedule

Bowmanville, ON – December 3, 2001: Families will have some wonderful options for their entertainment dollar including camping weekends, Saturday night stock car racing, motorcycle racing and Kart racing beginning next spring.

The major event roadcourse schedule begins with the traditional Victoria Day Trans-Am Weekend, May 17th to 19th. The Trans-Am Series is the headliner, but expect a full card with several other series also conducting championship rounds.

CASCAR's national program, The Super Series will make back to back stops. First up, it's the 250 KM roadcourse race weekend June 14th to 16th, followed by the 250 lap round on the 1/2 mile Mosport Speedway, June 22nd.

June 28th to 30th will be the dates for the annual VARAC Vintage Festival. Classic cars brought to life through their meticulous restoration and driven in race conditions.

Bike Week 2002 begins with the Mosport Rally for Sport Bikes, July 13th to 17th. Then it's time for Canadian Superbike Championships July 19th through 21st. The best riders put on an unbelievable display of talent in Mosport's round of the Superbike Championship.

The American Le Mans Series is back! August 16th to 18th the Grand Prix at Mosport features the stars and cars of the two Prototype classes (LMP 900 & LMP 675), the GTS class and GT ranks that make up the challenging endurance test. The 2002 race will provide even more excitement than recent years with the announcement of the extended race length from 2 hours, 45 minutes to 4 hours!

Weekly stock car racing commences Saturday May 12th. Four divisions: Thunder Car, Challenger, Open Wheel Modified and Late Model make up the divisions while several touring series visit the Speedway throughout the summer.

Mosport Kart Club offers a great day at the races. Always competitive, Kart racing ranges from junior and senior age groups in a variety of classes. The season starts in April.

Several rounds of the Canadian Automobile Sport Clubs (CASC) - Ontario Region Championship are scheduled. From formula classes to sedan classes, as with Karts, budding careers are being honed at the Regional races beginning in April.
